About the Competition

  • Offline Various Free Competition on World Ozone Day 2026, Series of activities to commemorate World Ozone Day 2026 on 16 September 2026 (Wednesday).
  • The event will include a Keynote Lecture, On-the-Spot Quiz Competition, and PPT Presentation Competition.
  • Date: 16.09.2026 (Wednesday)
  • Reporting Time: 9:00 AM
  • Time: 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Venue: Department of Environmental Science & Engineering, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.
  • Last Date of Registration and PPT Submission: 13.09.2026; 11:59 PM (Sunday).
  • Certificates will be awarded to the winners of the quiz competition.

Activities:

1. Keynote Lecture

An expert keynote lecture will be delivered on the importance of the ozone layer, ozone protection, and related environmental and climate concerns.  

2. On-the-Spot Quiz Competition

  • The quiz will be conducted in MCQ format.
  • Total Questions: 50
  • Duration: 15 minutes
  • The questions will focus on the ozone layer, ozone depletion,  its protection, Montreal Protocol, Kigali Amendment, environmental impacts, and global ozone conservation efforts.
  • Certificates will be awarded to the winners of the quiz competition.

3. PPT Presentation Competition

  • Participation is limited to 10 candidates (Selected Participants will be emailed on 15.09.2026).
  • Selection will be on a first-cum-first-served basis, subject to submission and acceptance of the PPT.
  • Interested candidates must submit their PPT in advance (Topic related to Ozone, Ozone Layer Protection, and World Ozone Day 2026 theme “Global Action for a Cooler Planet” ).
  • The first 10 eligible candidates, based on the order of PPT submission, will be selected for the presentation.
  • Presentation Duration: 7 minutes + Q&A: 3 minutes
  • Maximum Slides: 6

4. PPT Presentation Guidelines

The presentation must strictly follow the following format:

  • Slide 1: Title of the presentation, candidate’s name and other relevant details. The EIACP and IIT (ISM) logos should be placed at the top.
  • Slides 2–5: Main content of the presentation.
  • Slide 6: References — all sources used for the text, data, figures, photographs, charts, etc. must be properly cited.
  • The PPT must not exceed 6 slides.
  • All text, images, figures, data, and other materials taken from external sources must be properly referenced/cited, indicating the source/context from which they have been obtained.
