Why This Webinar Matters
Our current food systems are highly vulnerable to climate change, yet they also hold the key to mitigating its impact. To achieve an environmentally sustainable and inclusive India, we must drive behavioural changes—from encouraging climate-resilient agriculture to making responsible food choices and drastically reducing food waste.
Be part of the collective action that bridges policy, science, and community practice.

How do our food choices shape our climate future?
This World Environment Day, under the global theme “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future,” TERI is bringing the conversation from awareness to action.
Aligned with India’s Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) movement and the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, we are hosting an exclusive webinar on “Adopt Sustainable Food Systems for Climate-Resilient Communities” to explore how transforming our food systems can build climate-resilient, self-reliant communities.
Every year, World Environment Day is celebrated globally on 05th June to raise awareness about environmental challenges and encourage collective action for protecting the planet.
This year, the theme is “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.” This theme highlights the importance of nature-based solutions and collective action in addressing climate change and building a sustainable future.
Aligned with Mission LiFE an India-led global movement promoting environmentally conscious lifestyles, and the national vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, the programme aims to encourage behavioural change towards responsible food choices, reduction of food waste, support for local and climateresilient agriculture, and adoption of sustainable consumption practices.
The vision of Viksit Bharat emphasizes inclusive growth, environmental sustainability, and active youth participation in nation-building.
The webinar will bring together academicians, policymakers, researchers, industry experts, farmers, youth leaders, and environmental practitioners to deliberate on innovative, science-based, and community-driven approaches for transforming food systems.
Through knowledge exchange and collective action, the programme seeks to contribute towards building a climate-resilient, selfreliant, and sustainable India.
