Webinar

This webinar delves into the critical theme of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the context of English Language Teaching (ELT) in India.
As classrooms become increasingly diverse linguistically, culturally, and socio-economically teachers are challenged to move beyond traditional, one-size-fits-all methods of instruction. The session will explore how issues of access, representation, and learner identity intersect with English language pedagogy, often reinforcing existing inequities if left unaddressed.
At the same time, it will highlight innovative practices and policy interventions that have emerged to foster more inclusive and equitable learning environments. Drawing on practical examples from Indian classrooms, teacher education programs, and curriculum reforms, the webinar seeks to spark a dialogue on how ELT practitioners can reimagine their roles and strategies in light of DEI principles. Participants will gain insights into how inclusive practices not only enhance language learning outcomes but also contribute to building more just and representative educational spaces.
