About the Quiz Competition

  • The Cell for Law and Technology presents 4th edition of Quiz Competition on Techknow 2026, an online quiz contest to test your knowledge at the intersection of two dynamic fields-technology and law!
  • Date Registration Opens: 2 December, 2025
  • Registration Deadline: 1 January, 2026
  • Elimination Rounds: 10 January, 2026
  • Final Rounds: 11 January, 2026
  • Eligibility: Undergraduate and master’s students studying law and related subjects.
  • Students who cleared CLAT/AILET 2026 or similar exams.
  • Registration Fees: Single Participant: ₹350, Team (2 Members): ₹500.
  • Since both rounds are online, participants must maintain a good internet connection. No exceptions shall be given to any team for any reason or excuse whatsoever.
  • All the participants are at their own liberty to participate either individually or in teams. Both kinds of participants shall be judged and tested with the same rules on the same platform under the same category. No objections of unfairness or otherwise on the grounds of participating individually
  • Under no circumstances shall the participants contact or try to contact the drafters of the question/s or use the internet, books or other platforms or consult any person other than their teammate to find answers. All or any use of unfair means shall result in the disqualification of the team
  • The decision of the organizers shall be final and binding
  • The organizers reserve the right to amend any condition or rules in the Competition at any time.
  • Non-adherence of any of the guidelines may lead to disqualification of the participants.

ELIGIBILITY & TEAM COMPOSITION

  • Students may participate either individually or in teamsconsisting two (2) members Participants may form interinstitutional teams for the competition. Participation is open to all under-graduate and masters students studying law and related subjects only.
  • There is no cap on the number of teams registering from a college University.
  • Note. The students who have qualified CLAT/AILET 2025 or similar examinations are also eligible to participate

ABOUT THE TECHKNOW QUIZ

  • The NLIU Cell for Law and Technology organizer the NLIU-CLT TechKnow Quiz, each year as part of its Technology and Law Fair: Technology. This year, the Cell is thrilled to host the third edition of this quiz competition. The quiz contest will be conducted online and the subject matter shall be “Technology Law.”
  • The rise of technology brings huge benefits for businesses, consumers, entrepreneurs, and pretty much anybody who has a message they want to share with the world, But it also generates a completely new set of issues and moral conundrums. Here is where technology law is relevant. The main objective of the NLIU-CLT TechKnow Quiz is to gauge the participants’ knowledge of recent and past advancements in the field of technology law. Since technology law isn’t going gone anytime soon, it is crucial to be informed of its developments today.
  • The TechKnow Quiz shall be conducted in two rounds, with the first round serving as the elimination round and the second round serving as the final round. The Final Round shall be an oral round, while the Elimination Round will be a written round conducted online. Only the top eight competitors from the Elimination Round shall advance to the Final Round. Three phases make up the Final Round, and the contestants will be ranked according to their overall scores over all three phases.

RULES AND MARKING SCHEME ELIMINATION ROUND:

  1. The round will be conducted on an online platform, the details of which will be provided a few days before the competition.
  2. The round shall contain 25 questions. Each question will be multiple choice containing 4 options.
  3. Participants will get 45 seconds per question to attempt and answer each question.
  4. Each correct answer carries 4 marks and each wrong answer brings a negative marking of 1 marks. There will be no negative marking for unattempted questions.
  5. Participants will be ranked on the basis of marks scored out of 100 in these 25 questions.
  6. Top 8 teams shall qualify for the final rounds.
  7. In case of a tie between two participants, a tie breaker round will be conducted on the same platform consisting of 5 multiple choice questions. The marking scheme for this round shall being the same.

RULES AND MARKING SCHEME FINAL ROUND:

  1. The Final rounds will be oral rounds, which will be conducted on an online platform, The details and meeting link of this platform will be informed to the participants before the competition.
  2. The final rounds will be conducted in three phases, one of multiple choice questions, second of questions with no options, and the last will be true and false.
  3. Each correct answer carries 5 marks and each wrong answer brings a negative marking of 2 marks. There will be no negative marking for unattempted questions. This shall be applicable on all the three phases.
  4. The first phase, multiple choice questions round, shall consist of 2 questions for each finalist
  5. The second phase, no option round, shall consist of 2 question for each participant, This round shall have the option of passing the question. Teams correctly answering a passed question shall be awarded 2 marks and wrong answer shall have no negative marking. There will be no deduction of marks for passing the questions.
  6. The third phase, true and false round, will be a rapid fire round. Each participant must answer a total of 4 questions in 40 seconds.
  7. Participants shall be ranked on the basis of cumulative marks scored in all three rounds.
STRUCTURE OF THE COMPETITION
  • The competition shall take place in two stages
  • Elimination Round:
  • The elimination rounds will be conducted on an online platform A few days prior to the competition, information about the online platform where the elimination rounds will take place will be made available. The round will consist of 25 multiple choice questions, each with 4 possible answers, Based on how well each participant does on these 25 questions, they will be ranked. The top 8 candidates will advance to the final rounds. In the event of a the between two contestants, a tie-breaking round of 5 multiple-choice questions will be conducted on the same platform
  • Final Round:
  • The Final Rounds will be oral rounds, which will be conducted on an online platform, The competitors will be given information about this platform and the meeting link prior to the competition. Three phases will make up the final round: a multiple choice question phase, a question phase with no options, and a true false question phase. There will be 2 questions each for all the finalists in the multiple choice round. There will be 2 question each for all the eight participants in the second phase, the no option round The option to skip the question in this round will be available Rapid fire round will be used in the third phase, le the True and False round. Each participant shall have 40 seconds to respond to a total of 4 questions. The participants will be rated according to their overall score across all three rounds. in case of a tie the breaker round shall be conducted.
REGISTRATION PROCESS
  1. All interested students shall be required to register for the event in order to be eligible for participating in the Competition.
  2. The registration fee is INR 350 for single participant and INR500 for a Team of two participants
  3. Each team may be provided a team code that they shall use as a reference point throughout the competition.
